Thanks alot.
There are still two direct Northbound services an hour for Nottingham from St Pancras, but they now leave within 15 minutes of each other, so if you miss the second hourly service you have to wait 45 minutes for the next train.
I also see that between 1 February and 29 March, some Sunday trains take three hours from St Pancras to Nottingham. Just brilliant!
Thats not too great but the gap between the departures from Nottingham is 26 minutes (XX:02 and XX:28.). So it depends which way you look at it.
I also read in a the Yorkshire and Humber Route Ultilisation Plan today that East Midlands Trains plan to extend the Derby service to Sheffield in December 2009 which would be great if travelling from London as the gap between the Derby and Sheffield services will be 30 minutes (XX:25 and XX:55). But from Sheffield it would not be as great as the gap between departures there would be about 15 minutes (XX:27 and around XX:42-for the current Derby service)
3 HOURS! Where do they go! I'm sure it's about that from Sheffield.
TSRs (Temporary Speed Restrictions), also on Sundays there's a high chance that EMT have to share the slow lines south of Bedford or St Albans due to engineering work.
Ah right. Talking about speed restrictions there has been a couple between Chesterfield and Derby now for what seems like months! Anybody know whats happening there?
Yep, and in the new timetable the 1630 from KingsX with the change at Grantham, still gets you to Nottingham 8 minutes quicker that the 1630 from St Pancras.
EMT should be ashamed of that one.
Is the current Leicester - Lincoln service being cut?

This new EMT timetable is a complete disaster. We have two new stations which aren't going to get a service yet but trains will be stopping at them - E Midlands Parkway and Corby, maybe(?) - and my service from/to Loughborough has now degenerated into a farce. We had a train every 30 minutes now we will get one at xx20 and xx40 but the xx40 arrives at St P 5 mins behind the xx20. Going back from St P we have two departures an hour at xx25 and xx30! The corresponding E Midlands Parkway service has a 7/53 minute up service and a 50/10 down service.
Of course, half those stops in my area will not happen until the industry gets its act together and builds the station!
I'm ashamed to be a railwayman when I see such stupidity and bad management.

Why our govt cant do good by controlling this EMT's unfair attitude. I am from Nottingham. Every weekend i come back to nottingham from london to join with my family. I go back to london monday morning by taking one 6.02 or 6.08 Am trians. Now they are saying : You will enjoy more benefits with extra 700 seats on our trains between london-nottingham. In reality, they cancelled 3 serives (6.02,6.07,6.20) and replaced with just 6.23 train which reach london by 8.26AM. I have to start work from 9 AM. So, it will not be a good option for me. EMT bosses should be good polititians ...made good publicity ..
Recently, they said, we are making ticketing more easier.. we are not increasing ticket prices : What they did is, they cancelled few good priced tickets : weekend tickets, and few other nice tickets.. so people should buy full fare ( if they travel from london to nottingham on friday back to london on monday morning).
Now, they reduced services and saying that they increased the seats.. Is there any one who can stop EMT? they are playing with people's money during this recession period.. It is not good for us.. we should protest. I think govt controlled rail services are far better than these people..
No one can do them : this is their attitude.. Please save us polititians..
One thing about there new timetables i cannot understand is why they would want to stop at Liverpool South Parkway on the Liverpool-Norwich route when trains in the peak hour out of Liverpool are full to bursting with only two carriages.
They say they are going to increase the number of strengthened services but yet with the reliability of there Class 158s being drastically low how long will it be before they only send two carriages and no body is able to get on at intermediate stations because everyone has piled on at Lime St.
