Just seen this service get created, I am presuming that because it is out of Eastcroft and timed for 90mph its a 158, but why's it going to St Plillips March HSTD not Bristol Barton Hill, could it be 158889 going back to SWR already? The service is 5V81 Nottingham Eastcroft -> Phillips Marsh HSTD on Monday 7th.
158780 it's been parked up at Eastcroft for the past two days, next for it's refresh.
Not yet seen a path for 854 to return as of yet.

Not sure I've seen but 170512 returned last week and 513 is now at Crewe.

Had a very unexpected ride on 360111 today. Very nice seats. Pleased to see type c alongside “old” type a ports and plug sockets everywhere. New seat pitch (or the new geometry) finally allows me to seat on any seat, not just those bay ones facing each other (I am 6’ 4”)

It’s a shame it’s taken them this long because I do feel that they have the smartest looking interiors of all Desiro fleet with these.

Has the PIS screen been changed? It doesn’t look like the original LCD Dot type.

Yes and it looks way better.
And that’s even as someone who hates what they did to the scrolling displays on 805/807/172, etc.

Green flip dot looks quite outdated.

Yes the 360 refurbishment certainly has gone a lot further when compared to refurbishments done to the desiro fleets at other TOCs.

Still not sure why the hand rails around the doors are grey and not purple to match the 170s and 158s but apart from that really impressed with the consistency of refurb across all 3 fleets.

158806 now in for refurb at Eastcroft.

4 x 158s in that process at the moment, though 770 should be in service next week. 854 still at Bristol even though 780 has been there a few weeks now.

360s are going backwards again this week. More short forming and no refurbs out.

The poor performance of the Corby service never seems to trouble EMR management.

Possibly that's not true, but I've never seen any press release or statement of apology or action plan for improvement, unlike the Hitachi problems.

On 170273 currently, and one of the roof panels above the luggage racks at the front of the first coach popped out and needed the guard and an off-duty member of EMR staff to climb up and push it back in as the train was moving, truly shows the disrepair the fleet is in

Does anyone happen to know which unit has gone to Crewe today for refurbishment today and which one is returning to Etches Park today please? I’ve seen two services to and from Crewe C.S. show up on RTT as running today

170513 back to Etches and presumably 514 going into Crewe, if they're keeping to the numerical order

Meridians are out supplementing 360s again today...

Really does seem bizarre when one type suffering poor availability's covering for another with the same! I was beginning to think the 360s had become the best of the 3 but that seems to have fallen off a cliff.

Not running today, should be Thursday instead.

Unrelated to any refurbs but 170270 is finally back in service after a year out

That PIS screen looks like those fitted to the 350s during their refresh.

Odd things seem to have been missed from the contract, such as cleaning the ceilings of the 170s :)

The 360s look quite high quality, but as they've chosen a very thick backed seat in the LEAN it will be interesting to see how much legroom there is. It looks like the layout is as per the 350/1, if they have done that then the legroom will be original-158 levels of poor.

Most of us are still waiting as we're quite a long way into a programme that has so far delivered a homeopathic quantity of refurbished trains. Is it 2, or 3 now? Hard to tell and the ones known to be complete don't seem to be worked very hard. It's 2 1/2 years since the refurb contract was announced, and at no point have I ever felt there's any momentum to the project.

I did wonder if there is another slow-down because Siemens in Northampton are now also getting the 350/2 ready for Northern.

Caught the unit at Notts looking very shiny (although it already had bird droppings and fly splats all over it after only one journey…)IMG_6524.jpeg
