It has been removed from Dundee - Aberdeen search, so people don't accidentally end up on that one instead of the faster E1. You can still book from Dundee City Centre to Aberdeen Airport, or Dundee Marketgait - which is 2 minutes up the road - to any of the stops, including Aberdeen and Bridge of Don P&R.

Yes, I seen that when I first looked when the route was launched but didn't see the service latest search.
It isn't showing for me either, unless I change the destination to Dundee Marketgait. In fairness they're very close together but it's a slightly irritating bug, even if I understand why they've done it.

⚡️ Additional services on the E11 route connecting Aberdeen to Dundee via Braemar ⚡️

From 19 August Ember's initial express service will double in frequency, meaning two services runnng in each direction, seven days a week. As a reminder, we'll be adding many more stops to this route on a registered service later this year.

Feedback on this route so far has been very positive, with the journey taking in some of the most beautiful landscapes and scenery in the region.

If you'd like to try the E11 out for yourself, tickets are on sale NOW at https://www.ember.to/
Additional trip per day added to the E11 - quoted from Ember on Facebook.

Bridge of Don P&R 07:09
Aberdeen 07:19
Aberdeen Airport 07:38
Banchory 08:09
Braemar 09:14
Blairgowrie 10:14
Dundee Lawside 10:51
Dundee Marketgait 10:54
Dundee South Marketgait 10:58

Dundee Railway Station 14:25
Dundee Marketgait 14:28
Dundee Lawside 14:30
Blairgowrie 15:08
Braemar 16:09
Banchory 17:14
Aberdeen Airport 17:47
Aberdeen 18:06
Bridge of Don P&R 18:17

Now the service is operated out of both sides, Dundee and Aberdeen depots. This was originally hoped for at launch but didn't happen unfortunately due to Aberdeen driver shortages.

I think that's the plan eventually.
Realistically what would the route be though? speaking as someone wholly uneducated but surely something like Edinburgh to Newcastle is already a pretty saturated market and would the coaches even manage that far? Glasgow to Carlisle seems like the other obvious choice but that seems like a relatively low demand corridor.

Edinburgh to Newcastle is a similar distance to Edinburgh to Aberdeen, which they already do.

Edinburgh to Manchester is a gap at the moment. Glasgow/Edinburgh to Dumfries, already served.

Oban must the coming up shortly.

I used the new E11 from Aberdeen to Dundee. Departs from outside the Lemon Tree. Me and two others boarded. Service was one of the smaller Yutongs. We avoided Ballater I noted. 1 person boarded at Braemar. The section South of Braemar is the highlight, very remote.

Also used the E3 down to Glasgow on one of the bigger Yutongs , a group of rowdy young persons got told to leave the coach at Greenloaning which was amusing. They didn't put up much resistance!

Lots of stops added on the Inverness to Scrabster service from mid September (17th?). They all now show on the live tracker map.

Just noticed an interesting article on Ember's news page dated 25th July talking about their fares structure. They base them on car driving journeys and gives the example of Dundee to Braemar costing more than Dundee to Banchory even though Ember serve Banchory via Dundee.

Any ideas on what the E8/E9 could be?

Also has any operator attempted a service from Mallaig-Any city?

I assume Edinburgh - Glasgow and Edinburgh - Stirling, because that is how Scottish coach numbering works?

It's tremendously exciting that what they're doing makes it reasonable for us to start dreaming of things like this!

I really hope the routes that are pushing the boundaries (E4, E6, E11) work out for them. Someone trying out these types of routes is perhaps the most exciting thing happening with bus or coach transport in the UK at the moment!

They'll need to do something a bit unique to make Edinburgh Glasgow work. I don't know what the loadings are like at the moment, but apparently most of the time there's nothing but fresh air on the McGills Edinburgh Glasgow run while 900 continues to be packed on many runs

Most likley Edinburgh/Glasgow - Inverness the direct route via Perth, you can go Edinburgh/Glasgow to & from Inverness on Ember but rather converluted way via Aberdeen & Dundee.

Looking at the E6 timetable, i find it insane the first services leave Scrabster 03.47, & Inverness 04.30, but handy the last service in both directions is after 6pm.

To be fair I had no idea that McGills were running Edinburgh-Glasgow. Ember seem to be quite good at advertising to the types of people who like to have their journey all sorted in advance online, and would normally never even consider a bus.

Do you mean the X38? I’m not surprised as it’s a bit like catching the train but via Carstairs (not direct). During Fesrival August there’ll be no fresh air - as a constant stream of buses will testify as folk cascade on to the following service when required.

Flixbus and Citylink are already on this route.

Flixbus tend to pick up overseas tourists who have booked in advance between Edinburgh and Glasgow. The 900 is just easier to use with £10 return fare. Book close to departure with Flixbus and the fare shots up and you have then annoying seat reservations.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ember run Glasgow/Edinburgh - Dumfries.

I knew about Flixbus, but had no idea (or much interest) in who was actually operating it. As you say the whole seat reservation thing is annoying on Flixbus UK, and I wouldn't ever consider them for a journey like this. Ember are catering to a completely different customer base.

anything could be tried! XD I would say possibly Inverness-Glasgow/Edinburgh but also Edinburgh-Glasgow could be it,maybe ember will compete with the MEGA/SCLK Saltire cross. The UK090 Has been doing not so well for a long time……

Anyone else noted the 080 was withdrawn….
Anyone else Remmember the 080 route in Scotland?:D

Going what has been said on line, it was a route from Edinburgh to Liverpool?
The 080 had a couple iterations:
080 Aberdeen - Dundee - Broxden - Halbeath - Ingliston - Edinburgh - Carlisle - Manchester - Birmingham - Bristol [starting by 22 June 2023]
080 Edinburgh - Glasgow - Carlisle - Preston - Manchester - Liverpool [by late April 2024]
Was pulled in April 2025 if I recall.
