If the Thameslink/ Southern/ Great Northern TOC is going to be running 100mph/ 110mph EMUs north of the Thames on the fast Cambridge/ Kings Lynn services then surely they could do the same on a St Pancras - Corby service?
No reason why London - Corby would have to remain part of the current EMT franchise - it'd have more in common with the rest of the Thameslink service to Bedford (than with the fast services to Nottingham/ Derby/ Sheffield).
