VT 1S23 London Kings Cross - Glasgow Central has broken down at Stevenage all NB services will pass on the slow line minor delays

Indeed they did. Got quite crowded with VTEC trains going along the down slow, but luckily the train was on the move quite quick (this became apparent once trains starting coming through on the down fast as Virgin trains were lined up waiting to get into SVG!).
