On Saturday I am travelling from Manchester Piccadilly to Milton Keynes Central and am booked on the 1715 service.
This morning I received an email from Virgin Trains advising me that because of Premier League football they expected the 1715 (and 1735) departures from MAN to be very busy and that my ticket would be valid for the 1655 should I wish to travel earlier.
Except the 1655 doesn't call at MKC - unless they have added extra stops on Saturday that aren't showing in journey planners?
It seems odd that they would advise me (and presumeably all passengers booked on the 1715 to MKC) to board a service that doesn't stop there. Risks some folk watching in horror from the window as their train speeds through their station.
I did tweet VTWC suggesting it could confuse a stupid person - they apologised for confusing me but gave no further clarification. Does anyone know if the 1655 will make extra stops on Saturday or has this email been sent to me in error?
