. . . Could it be that our intrepid DVT has been away for repainting into the new EC livery? I don't know whether it was already painted . . . . .
It already was in the 'new' grey livery, as was the rake of coaches attached to it.

I passed it (the DVT which is online) again yesterday though wasn't able to read its number to confirm that 'it' is the same number.

It's currently working 1E19 14:30 Edinburgh to Kings Cross, just about to arrive into Newcastle.

When it gets to London it is then allocated to work

1N33 20:00 Kings Cross to Newcastle

and then

5N33 23:21 Newcastle to Heaton

Are the current 225 diagrams (publicly) online anywhere? I saw the HST diagrams recently, but not the 225 ones.

Strange, 115mph and 100mph in areas where it's normally flat out...wasting time or TSR?

Yep, can't have been working to Newcastle. Sitting in the depot at Leeds at midnight so must have worked there off Kings Cross.

Any ideas yet on why she was on a noctural run to New Barnet, if it wasn't a problem with the set???

Today, our 'friend' came to an unexpected stand very rapidly at the southern end of Tallington Lakes while working 1D16, the 13:35 London to Leeds service.

Beat me to it Dave

Oh dear

I was having a nice afternoon watching our set storming up the ECML and then...

She is currently (1443) sat forlorn in the Northamptonshire countryside just north of Peterborough. Just by a canal, of a small country lane called 'King Street'
Half a mile or so north of the B1443.

Has come up now on national rail enquires 'This train delayed by a train fault'

She has already worked - 1E06 - 0650 Glasgow Central - Kings Cross

She was working 1D16 - 1335 Kings Cross - Leeds

As I write, she is moving. 19 Minutes she was stopped. 1430 - 1449

Not looking good she's slowly moved to 22mph then back to 15mph :(

Now 5mph!

Arrh 2mph!

Stopped again - 1451
Poor thing

Well she was going great guns. 108mph just south of Peterborough. She then slowed to 47mph, I think that was more to slow for the station. Then she picked it up again, but less then five minutes after going through Peterborough, she just past a left hand junction (first station along that line looks to be Stamford) and began slowing.
Thought it was an odd place to be stopped.

Oohh - 1454 - shes off again

reached 61mph now - looking good :)

National rail enquires now says - 'This train delayed by an earlier train fault'

Going to have to go out soon, so may not see what happens to our train.

Has hit 105mph now so is on the move again

Amusingly enough 1D16 and 1D17 are now right on top of each other (within 5 minutes of each other roughly) so there is going to be something of an over supply of capacity to Leeds for the next little while.

Arrived into Leeds 31 down having managed to make up nearly 10 minutes between Wakefiled and Leeds (thank heavens for padding eh?). I actually expected it arrive 29 down personally and therefore prevent any delay repay but it didn't quite manage to make up that much time.

And after an 8(!) minute turnaround we're heading soutbound on the delayed 16:15 Leeds -> Kings Cross (1A40).

Our set has completed its lot for today

She worked:

5E06 - Polmadie - Glasgow Central
1E06 - 0650 - Glasgow Central - London Kings Cross
1D16 - 1335 - Kings Cross - Leeds
1A40 - 1615 - Leeds - Kings Cross
1D28 - 1902 - Kings Cross - Leeds
5D28 - Leeds - Neville Hill

Worth noting that after her mishap while working 1D16 she didn't run ontime till leaving The Cross with 1D28. Sadly her bad luck continued as she was as much as 13 down at Peterborough on 1D28, despite leaving on time. Made up some time and got into Leeds 7 down.

'Our' set just left Grantham on the 14:40 from GRA to Leeds. Its running on time and currently doing about 124.5mph about 10km from Newark.

I've just joined the site just because of this!

EDIT: It just went over 125mph :o

I hope your wrong about 1D16 or else my diagram plans are up in the air before i've even got going.

East Coast have me all confused. Our set, is currently working 1N34 2100 Kings Cross - Newcastle - which according to East Coast's website is diagramed for a HST - What the?!

Yes - got into Newcastle at 0029, some 18 minutes ahead of listed arrival

Left the railway station for Heaton at 0050, making a slow, stop-start journey arriving some 15 minutes later

Just picked up on this thread.

That was a fun way to spend an hour! Our celebrity DVT is now tucked up in bed at Heaton TMD.

Thanks to the OP for this excellent little program.

Not a lot doing tomorrow, so I may find myself following the set around.

This works on Chiltern's wifi. Watching with disappointment as my 67 hardly does over 50mph :(

What's our friend up to now? It worked through to Glasgow Central, then left a little while later and went around the back of Polmadie ...

never mind: seems to be reversing back into Polmadie

When you view it on-board, then the displayed speed is just over half the actual speed (the OP has explained this as relating to the diffenting reporting systems of miles / hour vs meters / second).

Isn't that just the train wash? (or even just stabling without a wash?)

Hello,

I haven't had chance to see our DVT online today. Popped on tonight to see where she was. Polmadie is the depot tonight, this means she worked 1S22 1500 LKX - GLA, which leads me to ask...

We know she was at Heaton last night, so can we piece together her day. Two probables as far as i'm concerned:

An early morning train from Newcastle to London and then on to Leeds. Back to London and then 1S22.

Or

The 0625 Newcastle to Edinburgh, the 0930 to London and then 1S22

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Something I do know is where our DVT has spent the night for the last week:

Thursday 20th October - London (Alexandra Palace) - arrive 0300 (after a little run to New Barnet) - Last train was 1Y53 2115 Newcastle - London Kings Cross
Friday 21st October - Leeds (Neville Hill) depot - already there at 0000
Saturday 22nd October - Leeds (Neville Hill) depot - already there at 0140
Sunday 23rd October - Glasgow (Polmadie) - already there at 0010 - Last train was 1S26 1700 London Kings Cross - Glasgow Central
Monday 24th October - Leeds (Neville Hill) - arrived between 2130 - 2150 --- Last train was 1D28 London Kings Cross - Leeds
Tuesday 25th October - Leeds (Neville Hill) - already there at 2356
Wednesday 26th October - Newcastle (Heaton) - Arrived 0105 - Last train was 1N34 2100 London Kings Cross - Newcastle (arrived 0029)
Thursday 27th October - Glasgow (Polmadie) - Already there at 2351 --- Last train was 1S22 1500 London Kings Cross - Glasgow Central

Maybe too soon to see any pattern. What you can say is that Leeds is a favourite spot. I know she has been in the last month or so but I'd like to see a visit to Craigentinny. I think it's feeling left out. Out of interest how many 225's are at Craigentinny on a given night? and does Leeds have the largest number of 225's stabled there?

These were yesterday's movements for DVT 82218.

0625 Newcastle (NCL) - Edinburgh (EDB) 0810
She then spent and hour or so at Craigentinny.
0930 Edinburgh (EDB) - King's Cross (KGX) 1357
1500 King's Cross (KGX) - Glasgow Central (GLC) 2037

Spent the night on Polmadie and now this minute has just moved off Polmadie heading to GLC for probably the 0650 Glasgow Central (GLC) - King's Cross (KGX) 1246.

*EDIT* And there she goes across the Clyde bang on time! :)

Hmmm....I thought I had fixed the speed problem. Only the "off-train" system reports in knots, the onboards all seem to use m/s - so I put some code in which did a check for the ID of the system being interrogated.

Of course, if this ID isn't unique, then there could still be a problem :)

Glad to know it works on chiltern OK

Excellent, she worked one of my two probables.

As for today she has wound up on 1S30 1830 - Kings Cross - Edinburgh

Just seen her leave the station (2341) and travel to Craigentinny (arr 2355)

Very cool to see her pull up at the buffer stop. You can even see which of the sidings she is in. :D

Yesterday (Fri) I have been trying to work out what 82218 did in between 1E06 0625 Glasgow Central - Kings Cross and 1S30 1830 Kings Cross - Edinburgh

I reckon she worked 1D15 1305 - Kings Cross - Leeds and then 1A39 1545 Leeds - Kings Cross

Anyone confirm this???

Anyone confirm this???

These were her workings for Friday.

After spending the night on Polmadie, she worked the following...

0650 Glasgow Central (GLC) - King's Cross (KGX) 1246
1305 King's Cross (KGX) - Leeds (LDS) 1519
1545 Leeds (LDS) - King's Cross (KGX) 1801
1830 King's Cross (KGX) - Edinburgh (EDB) 2322

She's been sat on Craigentinny all night and I guess she'll be starting the day with the 0655 Edinburgh (EDB) - King's Cross (KGX) 1146

No idea how you got that one right, there are several trains a set in Edinburgh could have worked first thing. :D Likely to be stuck in KGX for a while now, there aren't many probable departures at the moment...

Just in case anyone is trying to work out EC diagrams from this, I'm going to suggest not to bother, as it's all rather fluid with the new timetable. I haven't been watching this much recently, but I think I've seen at least three occasions when there have been diagram swaps due to disruption. :D

Currently showing as stationary on the Hertford loop north of Bowes Park station: What's going on there? Are there engineering works in that neck of the woods at the moment?
