Easter 2017 engineering works

Does anyone know what major engineering works there are over Easter 2017?

In particular, any affecting WCML or ECML on Good Friday. I am currently planning my trip to Cumbria so need to check that I can get to Windermere (or Grange Over Sands) on the Friday or if I need to go the day before.

It's still more than 12 weeks away yet, so there is very little information on works at Easter.

Love driving through Shenfield at the moment as its like a huge model railway being put together. The 50TSR gives me more time to look.

Thats the latest plan we have. Been going back and forth between TOCs and NR for a while. Week 5 was meant to include DC lines extended access so DF - UF crossover gets renewed.

Apparently week 9 is also when Wembley Central North Crossover gets finished too....(not finished last week)

Wasn't it sorted in the 90s/WCRM?

All the information I can see is about midweek night possessions, which doesn't cover the major daytime works at bank holidays.

As posted earlier, suggest wait until 12 weeks before dates and then all the information will be on "Future Engineering Works" on the NRES Website. Longer to wait this year, I 'm afraid, as Easter is late.

Depends which section you look at, big items normally live in section 7.

Starting earlier, and finishing later, than Easter will be works at Bath Spa from 8th to 23rd April 2017. Platform closures, along with a reduced level of service between Bath Spa and London Paddington, during the week but complete line closures at weekends.

Motherwell box starts to go into the WSSC from this Easter I believe. Motherwell North Resignalling Project ongoing.

Another block of Cardiff Central - Queen St on the Valley lines 2 weeks before Easter over weekend of 1st - 2nd April to allow track be installed so Plat 4 at Central can be linked up to Queen St. (Source: Modern Railways feature on CASR, December 2016)

Not sure if that section will be fully commissioned into service that weekend, or if it will be done over Easter through another block.

Any idea of any work between Liverpool and London over the Easter weekend? I'm travelling to London the 15th April (Saturday) but can only find London Midland mentioned.

There are engineering works, in the Wembley area I believe, meaning extended journey times.

2hrs48 Euston to Lime Street for instance, instead of the usual 2hrs14.

I am a bit puzzled by the entry on Engineering works for Easter stating " No Tfl rail trains Sat 15th to Mon 17th April " , route affected being All Tfl rail routes . then .."Network Rail are carrying out engineering work on the TfL Rail route, closing all lines.
Being a curious northerner, I dont understand this entry. Does it affect London Overground ? No specific stations are mentioned in the entry..

TfL Rail is the current name for the Liverpool St - Brentwood/Shenfield route - the precursor to Crossrail. A more explicit description would, as you say, be helpful for the general public

WCML journeys have been in the journey planner for a few weeks. does anyone know if/when Virgin will be releasing advance fares for Good Friday or are they not releasing any due to the thinned out timetable?
if you look for Euston to anywhere on WCML on Good Friday (14 April) - 8 weeks on Friday - it shows off-peak tickets only, no advances. East coast has been offering advances for that day on East coast route for a few weeks.

East Coast can be booked for 12 montha ahead I believe.
