Oh yes, I'm sure the government, probably the most mizerly organisation in the Uk, will be a much better employer. Job cuts and cost cutting for all!
Interesting! So there will be, I believe four trains which will depart under the old franchise and arrive after the transfer has taken effect! Perhaps the crews will make some kind of announcement en route, trying to keep their barely-contained glee and relief in check.
Going to chage that slightly, can anyone tell me what the last NXEC train to leave Waverley will be?

The passengers will be celebrating as well! Good ridence to a dreadful operator, just hope they don't come back! I was celebrating hard when they lost the East Midlands franchise only to return with the same **** on the East Coast. Hopefully free of them forever now!
Don't the government still have the rights to www.intercityeastcoast.co.uk? Would be as good as anything, or even intercity.co.uk (although this has got a squater using it.
The franchise is known as Inter-City East Coast so why not use it (bring back the swallow.![]()
Well all i can say is the majority of us who work for NXEA we are all extremelly envious of our colleagues at East Coast![]()
The East Coast Main Line will be transfer to a government-controlled company at one minute before midnight on 13 November, it has been confirmed.
:? I thought it was december

You think they would have a new livery
i say bring back IC swallow livery!!!
can anyone tell me what the last NXEC train to leave Waverley will be?
The 2228 Edinburgh Waverley to Haymarket, Motherwell and Glasgow Central leaves later. This is the 1800 from Kings Cross. The 1950 Glasgow Central to York service (2100 off Edinburgh) will be an NXEC service until it gets to (roughly) Thirsk.
Nobody forces you to work for them.
Not a bad point cause the DFT actually own the rights to the livery so legally are the only bunch who can use it without payment.
National Express never had the 'East Midlands' franchise, they had both the Central and Midland Main Line franchises. Midland Mainline was pretty universally loved I thought, and Central was a really good franchise fraught with stupid management problems. I'd gladly have them both back. The passengers will be celebrating as well! Good ridence to a dreadful operator, just hope they don't come back! BRB (Residuary) Ltd., surely? Either way, they had no issue with the privatised TOCs using it; the last unit to be painted (an EMT 153 in SuperSprinter Regional Railways livery) was only given its new colours last year!!Not a bad point cause the DFT actually own the rights to the livery so legally are the only bunch who can use it without payment.
Is "Find and Replace" out of the question?Giuven the operator information etc is loaded 12 weeks beforehand, we may still see NXEC until early february!

. Sorry you have yet to convince me that national express are capable of running a TOC. .
