A photo on wnxx shows 37069 is also outside with 47747 with not much work being done on 37069
I was in a bit of rush, but if I had time I would have put the link to the photo on.
Some DRS News
Thanks, Sam

Some DRS Newshock: 57302 will be out on the Holyhead drag tommorow, and this won't be the end. DRS are stealing some of the Virgin 57/3s because they have picked up the WCML thunderbird contract
.
Thanks, Sam
I wouldn't say Stealing, just switching loco providers. Interestingly, it seems that this was a First Group idea initially using DRS's 57/3s & laterally 68s. No doubt the staffing will remain the same (as per EC & GA where EC drivers sign the 67s & GA drivers sign the thunderbird 47s).

Incidentally 57302 was a failure this morning for the Holyhead drag, it wouldn't start !
Anyone know if 66423 is back in traffic or not yet? thanks in advance for any help provided.
Then 311 stepped in and after having problems at Rhyl on the outward, the return from Holyhead is caped!
Good job it's going over to a Voyager in a few weeks then...
The lease would probably be switched over to DRS, or subleased from VT to DRS - which would probably leave the locos in VT livery.
Apparently, some 37/4s at carlisle kingmoor could be scrapped!
Why?! Are they being replaced by ex-VT 57/3s, or are they just old?

Several coaches have been moved from Barrow Hill to Crewe this week.
Mooted for the Glo-ex jobs it seems. Would any of these be the former 'Forest of Toton' Mk2s by any chance? Hope DRS decides to keep them in Blue Grey though, especially if they are to use them in the Spot hire / Touring market aswell.
Loco-hauled Cumbrian Coast Commuter Service
Rail Commuting Capacity has been boosted by British Nuclear Fuels, the major employers at Sellafield, for their Nuclear workforce by their fully owned subsidiary, Direct Rail Services who have commenced regular passenger services. dubbed The Glow-ex
Direct Rail Services Joins Forces with Northern Rail to Operate a New Four Car Service
Previously, a large gap in the timetable for this Cumbrian Coast line meant that workers could arrive from the Carlisle direction at 10:11, and from the south, a little earlier. The new service provides an arrival time from the Carlisle direction at 07:55 a vast improvement as well as opening up new business, commuting and educational opportunities from those along the northern stretch of the line.
The train, dubbed The Glow-ex, is anticipated to be worked by Class 37 locomotives, at present either 37409 Lord Hinton or 37423 Spirit of the Lakes, although other motive power will be able to deputise. The coaching stock is formed of former Anglia Railways Mark 2 coaches, in a distinctive teal livery. The train allows us to reminisce of the Flood Ex trains which DRS ran after bridges and roads were cut off in the region a couple of years ago which served a new station at Workington North.
DRS, despite having its own Driver and Guard on the train, a Northern Rail conductor is also on hand to sell tickets from the National Rail linked sales machines. Initial results from the service appear to have been promising, with a mixed combination of enthusiasts, Sellafield staff and other rail passengers for the area all taking advantage of the train.
Interestingly, the service has four carriages, which is either quadruple or double the usual capacity provided on the line but this provides the brake force required so trains can run at line-speeds. Trains are normally formed by Class 142 Pacer (notoriously claimed to be Britains most uncomfortable train) or a Class 153 nicknamed Dogbox - because it is a tiny one-car train!
Direct Rail Services service the coaches and locomotives at their Kingmoor depot, where a number of additional 37/4s are being prepared for a main line return.
Oh, does this mean the end for the Anglia Mark 2s then?
There are three 37/4s going to be scrapped and they are 417, 416 and either 426 or 427.
I doubt it, I saw 12 Anglia liveried carriages storming through Wigan a fortnight ago behind a skip working an ECS from Inverness to Crewe. Was a nice sight to see all matching coaching stock, well except for a brown and cream kitchen car...
I'm fairly sure that article is from the original test runs earlier in the year.
EDIT: Looks like it is all blue and grey so far...

DRS bought DBSOs? Where are they intending to use them or are they just for spares for normal mark2s, and do they already have any (I think there are 6 that are not with Network Rail, so who has them)? It was, and with Direct Rail Services purchase of up to 20 / 24 odd Ex Cargo D Mk2s & 2 DBSOs in Eastleigh, will mean the end of the hire in Riviera Anglian set.

Thanks, I assume the DBSOs that aren't with Network Rail don't have blue star at the moment so work will need to be done, but what does BARS stand for? Would the new Great Western franchise be likely to carry forward the idea of using mark2s though, or would they get additional units or wait until the wires are up to cascade the 16x units?Presumably it'll mean the Glow - Ex runs with a loco & DBSO. Most of DRS's Loco's are fitted with Blue Star multi working for the various Network Rail test train jobs, so it's possible to mod the Mk2s & DBSO.
As for who owns the rest of the DBSO fleet - B-A-R-S. Presumably purchased for this long vaunted Okehampton to Exeter St James's Park service - DCR 31, mk2s & DBSO. Although now that it's been included into the next GW Franchise, will probably now not be going ahead with BARS.
