Drinking time "etiquette" also doesn't apply when in airline lounges at airports.
This allows me to slip into this thread. Thank you.

I well remember sitting in Glasgow Airport in the 1990s with both my mother & brother, who are both dead, & for sure both I, & my brother were having a pint at 0800 in the bar. Cannot remember what darling mother was imbibing, probably the same. This was to be, my late mother's last holiday as it turned out.
The Chief Planner mentioned about a certain gent, I have read similar on these boards over the years from the Southern Region, where gentlemen would inmbide, in their "morning train", ala Sheena Easton.
There are SOOO many variables; I have a couple of friends who are scared of alcohol, then I have a friend who is a Welsh Highlander, we are both of Celtic stock, who can imbibe at any time.
For me, a lot of this comes down to culture, where you grew up. Some people are more relaxed with alcohol, some are more like those who have sucked lemons. Generations are becoming more relaxed as well, rather than the <dry towns>, & no licensed hostelry open on a Sunday.
We are moving, as usual, in these, our sceptered islands, glacially, to a 24 hour culture.
I DO agree with Scotrail & other providers having alcohol free times. One does like to have a dry white wine from the trolley, to start a long journey.
I do not know what the member who posted a link to AA was trying to do? Were you trying to 12, or even, 13 step here, or being [radio Clyde]??
