If they're eventually in a few years going to run some Kidderminster morning/evening peaks as 67s, that gives me a chance of an Intercity train to commute on in the mornings. Here's hoping it happens, much better than the current packed out 168 or 172 alternative! Take it they'll be six coaches?

I think 67 & mark 3 stock will have to be stabled at Stourbridge this year though. Moor Street is already full and I don't think the company fancy paying for berths at Tyseley if they can help it.

For most of this year the Banbury turn has been used for training Stourbridge guards, which lends credence to the idea.

Stourbridge drivers will begin training on 67s from next month as far as I am aware. Birmingham is 90% through it's driver training program.

They could just buy some of IÉ's spare Mk3s, complete with power plug doors, and rebogey them :D

Yes, all the CDL is on a HST is a deadbolt that comes down. There is no interlock, and if the door is on the catch, the deadbolt just comes so far and sticks. HST's have been known to leave stations with the doors wide open, and the resulting damage can be quite severe.

I remember jamming up the GEML south of Colchester a few years ago after warning the driver of a departing Anglia service that one of the doors was on the catch (it was the Mk3 buffet). It was quite funny when not long after a FGE 321 pulled up to the red signal and shortly after came over the PA to apologise for the delay "as the train infront has stopped for some reason", leaving me to think "I know why!"
