Wasn't there something to do with them coming apart in service or something which is the reason behind that?
379's on Greater Anglia had a few incidents of that, and as a result the gangways don't see use any more on those either in my limited experience.

Does it take long to set up a gangway on a 387 when coupling two units together? GN regularly split and join services at Cambridge but I assume the timetable was designed for working with 365's which never had corridor connections to worry about.

I think that's what I've been thinking of, one of those designs anyway

Tfw don't open the gangways on 150s on the valleys. Guessing its because of the amount of attaching and detaching they do

Interesting, does that mean the guard transfers between units at stations then?
I Should have clarified that actually. They don't tend to open the door between cab and saloon to allow passengers to pass through Gangway connector may actually be opened though.

Great Northern used to lock the gangways out of use between the 387s, I think they still do

Since the December timetable change they've been opened up again. Platform extensions mean that most Kings Lynn services are now 8 cars throughout with a significantly reduced amount of splitting and joining at Cambridge.
