Wales (sometimes in England), thanks for replying!
The announcements were very loud, and so was the 'beep' before the doors close (not the hustle alarm, the long beeeeep). I hope they fix that, as it was almost too loud, even with AirPods in.
Aren't AirPods (like the EarPods they're based on) open-type earphones, so they're not very good at reducing background noise?

If you want earphones with better background noise reduction, get a pair of in-ear earphones, and triple-flange tips for them, which have a really good seal.

Weirdly enough, the onboard maps/interchange info didn't show the new Overground names, and the PSA onboard did all the announcements manually for interchange stations (well, Stratford, West Ham, and Canning Town where I got off.)
What does PSA stand for? Passenger Service Assistant?

They are really nice trains - very quiet internally, and has elements of TfL's new (I suppose not so new anymore) CMF design language, with brushed metal highlights and little hidden roundels.
What does CMF stand for?

Answering my own question, 209 is on Stratford International to Woolwich, every 50 minutes. Test runs to Beckton by 201 and 238 were seen too. It left Woolwich about 1205 and seems to repeat every 50 minutes (21 minutes journey time plus 4 minutes each end).

The big question no one seems to be asking: Is the “hunting” any better?
not noticed any. PSA said ride was smoother, but then they are pretty new.

Or a due deference for reducing costs? How much fabric would be wasted for something utterly petty which virtually no one actually cares about?

I very much doubt it's a cost saving measure, it's almost certainly lack of attention to detail or poor quality control, CAF do have form for that kind of thing.

Indeed, their deliveries elsewhere have seen the initials rebadged as "Cheap As F***".

Something I forgot to ask the train staff yesterday ... why the mix of 2 and 3 doorways on the different carriages?

The specification asked for 12 doors (if I remember correctly). CAF worked out 5 cars would be optimal for the specified train length and the track geometry. 5 doesn't go into 12.

Any of that sway when at speed?
The hunting/sway was way down when I rode. Had less of that 'rollercoaster' feel, but I look forward to trying it around the Canary Wharf area.

Yeah, I have AirPods 3, without active noise cancellation, so they don't really reduce background noise past just having something in your ear playing music would. That said, it was still really loud.

Yeah, Passenger Service Agent (I think)

Colour, Material, Finish. The new TfL CMF for train interiors has more brushed metal finishes, with colours of the line on grab poles and other details around the cabin. Seen on the 710s, the 345s, the B23s, and the Picc 24 stock.

Hunting! I couldn't remember the word! Great. I always noticed it most on the Stratford High Level branch

Saw 238 on test at Stratford on Thursday, as well as 201.

238 was in the "official" livery, like 209. Rode 209 from Stratford International to King George V, and back to Stratford. Must say, I was quite impressed.

Just got off it at Stratford. Felt a bit rough in the wet.

The deaf would dead set hear the ready to start ding.

You can spot it because the train behind got removed from service and there's a 20 minute gap

On it now, the bell is REALLY loud.

Not much smoother to be honest, but it's a definite improvement.

Yeah, does sound like it's too loud.

Thanks :)

Train reversed at King George V back towards Stratford International due to late running
ATO was having difficulties so the PSA had to manually shunt the train for some of the previous journey.

Now at West Ham (17:23) heading NB for anyone interested in finding it (with ATO working)
209 eventually got pulled from service today after going non-communicating multiple times in the rain.

Doesn't exactly bode well

How many trains have you been involved with putting into service?

Finessing ATO performance, particularly with Seltrac, is an art and still causes issues with the legacy DLR stock and on the Jubilee, Northern and Sub-Surface lines. For a fleet that has largely been tested in summer, and is still in a ‘soft launch’ phase, it is entirely expected that there will be real world issues. The only way you can solve ATO adhesion issues on real world conditions is… in the real world.

Any news on when more B90s will be withdrawn and more B23s delivered?
A total of three B23s are expected to enter service over the next four weeks.

Weirdly combative... multiple, thank you.

The 'soft launch' was the month of dawn to dusk reliability proving, 209 is an accepted train running a timetabled service from 6am till past midnight every day with just a PSA onboard.

One of the reasons the fleet was so delayed was ATO adhesion issues, so for it to be failing now is disconcerting even if it is (hopefully) an easy fix.

The system doesn't have the luxury of breathing room at the moment, a reduced timetable is already in operation due to its rolling stock shortage, with more B92s getting closer to their millage limits as time ticks on.

Any further issues that disturb the aggressive rollout over the coming months (not that I'm implying there will be) will cause a massive headache.

…to use the newer CBTC version of SelTrac which is a lot more intelligent to the point where the train in front can report back it’s adhesion to therefore advice the train behind to use a specific performance pattern in order to avoid wheel slip. Truly amazing technology.

Over there
I saw 26 being on the back of a Alleys trailer heading along the A13 towards the M25 on Thursday so assume off for scrap?

Does anyone know where they are going?
