I like to listen to my iPod when I am travelling. I try to make sure that the sound does not leak (the first thing I did was scrap the rubbishy earphones that Apple supply). Just in case there is some leakage that I am oblivious to I avoid quiet coaches. On the odd journey when there is not much room anywhere else then I will use one (and turn the sound right down). It rarely makes much difference, though. If the train is that full, there will always be people who think that the world will end if they are off the phone for two minutes, quiet coach or no.
