dont know if this has been on the forum before but SRPS are running a tour from Edinburgh to Thurso & wick 17th & 18th June with 55022 booked.
Lots of lucky Scottish people! I can't do this as the time away from home is too great, but the one time I've ever done an SRPS tour (handily started in England....) was the second best tour I've ever been on.
I'd do this tour only I'm doing the 50s from Kings Cross to Glasgow that weekend.
The SRPS did a similar tour in 2007 with 40145 (should have had 55022 at the other end but it was out of service then) Great trip but I would say book first class for a bit of comfort, well worth it.

SRPS run some great trips, highly recommended.
It hasn't! I'm going to post a thread with the tours listed so far by SRPS.
This sounds like an absolute cracker, I've never worked an overnighter before, done the FNL north of Dingwall or had Deltic haulage before. 3 birds - one cracking stone!

Your diary is looking busy?! I've got 5 exams followed by (working) 3 tours in 3 weeks! 5 Highers, Llandudno, Leeds and Thurso here I come!I might do it again though, just depends what crops up the rest of the year, the diary is already starting to look busy!
Slightly off topic, I'm sorry . . . .
About 2 weeks ago when the snow was still preventing lots of travel by rail (and other modes), there was a picture on the BBC's web site to accompany an article about travel chaos around Thurso (they always call it 'chaos', don't they?).
The picture was unmistakenly a Deltic in BR blue with yellow nose and a flurry of snowflakes close to the camera. I wanted to post the pic on here for a quick laugh, but sadly the picture was changed before I got round to it.
Maybe it will all become true again!
