Journey is from station A to end station D. Bought a ticket to further station E (same price, and on same line) as unsure if returning from station D or E.
Travelled from station A to station B to find connecting service to station C cancelled and an hour to wait for the next train, which in turn would see next connection from station C to station D missed, which would result in a total delay of over 2 hours.
Instead took a (separately paid for) bus from station B to station C to catch next available connection to station D resulting in a minimised total delay of just over 1 hour.
Delay repay rules are in force.
Questions:
1) Can delay repay be claimed for the stopping short journey from A to D of just over 1 hour, even though the ticket is to station E?
1a) If yes, does the fact that part of the journey was undertaken by bus, in order to minimise the delay, affect anything?
2) If it can't be claimed for A to D, can it be legitimately claimed for the journey A to E on the ticket, even though the last bit of the journey (from D to E) didn't take place? The delay amount is identical.
2a) And same question as per 1a.
Don't think I'll bother with it (unless anyone has any very clear understanding of entitlement), but interested if anyone has any thoughts!
