Hi,
I purchased a First Class 15 day Global Interrail pass for use between 30/01 and 12/02.
On my outward journey I travelled with Virgin Trains from Motherwell to London Euston. The journey did not go to plan. The train was delayed by a failed freight at Beattock Summit and by Preston we were running an hour late. After Wigan the train manager put a college party of teenagers, who were booked on the next train, into the coach in which I was travelling, who were very noisy and obviously excited about their outing to London and spent the journey shouting at each other up and down the coach. We arrived in Euston 55mins late.
The train manager came through and stamped everyones ticket telling us all to put in a claim as soon as possible.
I did, and this week I got a cheque from Virgin for £8.28p, with a covering letter telling me that this was 50% of the fare paid. I am curious as to how this figure was arrived at.
Anyone any idea ??
