60099 was original engine so expect these to be the same. It would be a big job to put a 66 power unit in and arguably takes away one of the advantages a 60 has over a 66.

60099 was original engine so expect these to be the same. It would be a big job to put a 66 power unit in and arguably takes away one of the advantages a 60 has over a 66.

60014 is the designated 'concept' locomotive for any possible re-engineering by Progress Rail at Longport. The last I heard was that EMD engines have been conclusively ruled out.

Thus, DCR Class 60s will be retaining their as-built engines.

Considering making a special trip out to see the 1034 6V23 Willesden to Merehead Quarry if 60099 and 60028 are on it.

How far in advance are the loco's normally allocated in TOPS please?

I believe the alternative is that the 56's would work it, but I'm not as fussed about seeing them.
