Indeed, with freightliner and DBS sending out the possibility of heavy redundancies the possibility of trainee positions in the latter part of this year is extremely grim with any TOC as ASLEF will do their utmost to secure jobs for any redundant drivers as they did with DBS 6 years ago if I recall many went to Thameslink. Before all you potential non railway folks say it's not fair unfortunately in my opinion it is very fair that a qualified driver who is made redundant gets priority over anyone else.
