Look guys, for the second time, let's all calm down! No swearing at people, no slander, just calm it!
Jonfun - you walked into it a bit here to be honest. It isn't really fair to accuse the traincrew of any wrongdoing - do you have any proof that they didn't try to get the problem fixed? As already stated by other people, the problem wasn't easy to fix. They are likely to have tried resetting the system - I saw a train manager on a Voyager come to reset a toilet the other day when it stopped working, and they do try to get things sorted when they break down.
However, on the same train, the aircon in one carriage was down. Obviously this wasn't a problem that could be fixed by a simple reset, as it is likely that they had tried to do it in the same way as the toilet. And you've got to remember, they aren't engineers. But again, how do we not know that they tried to contact Virgin control to arrange for an engineer to look at it? They may well have done - Virgin control may well have refused!
I can understand that your original post may well have been meant jokily, but the subject of your complaint was not very jokey, that's why my original response was as it was. Just understand that you are unfair to blame the virtually powerless traincrew for the fault. Blame Virgin control for not getting water out quickly enough; blame maintainence depots for not sorting out aircon problems (which I agree are unacceptable); blame the original manafacturers for poor reliability. But don't blame traincrew when they don't deserve it. I agree, there are some poor traincrews out there on various different TOCs, but in this case, they couldn't have really done much more.
As for everybody else, I can see why you were getting frustrated, but let's keep it nice. Don't swear or abuse, it doesn't really enhance your point particularly.
And as David said, this particular argument has got a bit out of hand...
