You learn something new every day. I have never heard Leigh pronounced. Had I known the clue would have been Utter a caustic falsehood or something similar.
edit: on reflection base would be better than caustic.

Neither Bellgrove nor Dingle. The former is more in line with the answer - presumably Tinkerbell being referenced by fairy but that would not be sound and would need some indication that only the last few letters were used.

I had been thinking of Gilbert as a Christian name and the only one that immediately came to mind, apart from Gilbert O'Sullivan, was Gilbert Harding (as I was given a Gilbert Harding Quiz Book wghen I was about 7). having frantically looked to see if there was a station at Hardings Wood, near Kidsgrove, and finding that there wasn't, I was stumped.
How silly of me to think of Gilbert O'Sullivan but not Gilbert and Sullivan, although I wasn;'t aware of the existance of anywhere called Williamswood until I checked the on line stations index.
Anyway, a nice easy clue now,
What everybody stuck at traffic lights would like to do.
Please forgive the unintended puns re being stumped and on line stations index.

Please try again with Fairy dell. The W S Gilbert reference is not actually necessary - I included it as an extra pointer to the right direction, but it rather rebounded.
Tube stations are possible, of course.

This could well be Hope, or rather, one of the Hopes - Derbyshire (HOP) or Flintshire (HPE). Flintshire is more likely since it has a coastline.
