I'm almost completely stumped by this, but here's a go. Barrow Haven? A barrow is a castrated boar, and haven being an institution, possibly - 'oop North' meaning in the north of England (though Lincolnshire doesn't really count in my opinion!), and I've no idea how the play area fits. But it's the best I've got.
I had no idea that a barrow was a castrated boar -- very educational, this "Quizzes and Games" ! The livestock as per clue, though, is not porcine -- a different species. Being looked for as a possible synonym for "institution", is a word which is actually a very short and simple one. "Oop North" geographically correct (indeed further up that way, than Lincolnshire): also, involves a Northern English dialect word.

Well I think I've got there, in the end - Oxenholme Lake District? 'Oxen+ho(l)me' being an institution for neutered livestock, 'lake' meaning 'to play' (though that threw me - in my own northern English accent/dialect, that word is pronounced 'leck'), and 'district' meaning 'area'.
In sooth, Mr. North-English-Person, thou hast fully the rights of it ! I'm a southerner: the few times I've heard "lake / laik" = "play" said -- chiefly by a chap from south Yorkshire whom I once knew -- I seem to recall its being spoken like the body-of-water word; but it was all a long time ago.
