I've tried Kojak (duh!), Magnum and Columbo (both dicks have a u (for uranium) in their names - all to no avail. As for vermin, I've tried rat(s), lice, louse, pest(s) and flea(s). And I'm still none the wiser after about fours hours! This is a tough one!!

Remember, the clue was, "there is a loss of uranium", so the u disappears. Mix the rodent with the detective minus the u and you have the station.
