Johnnychips has it, and the anagram. I did think that Arnside was in Lancashire and Grange (over Sands) in Cumbria but then I realised this wasn't where the county boundary lies. Trip workings from Carnforth to Grange and Ulverston were still steam-hauled across Arnside Viaduct right into the very final week of BR steam.
I'd suggest Ellon, Aberdeenshire: "Elon" plus, within the name, another small "l", which could be seen as a -- vertical -- shaft; but the station concerned -- with the Dyce to Fraserburgh line on which it lay -- lost its passenger service in 1965 !
