What station is this? Wow, Bootle!
Bootle on the Cumbrian Coast line? -- tends to surprise people who come upon it unawares: they associate the name with the bettter-known Bootle on Merseyside?
Corkickle?
Welcome to RailUK and Cryptic Clues Gelliant.
Corkickle (on the Cumbrian Coast Line) is the correct answer, your turn...
Godstone?
as in God made everything?
and stone broke, or penniless?
Nice guess. Godstone is not right but the station does have eight letters.
That rules out Godalming then.
MEP broke- Pembroke?
Short rail spot-hire craftsmanship?
Head being beaten against brick wall here. Thinking along lines of anagrammatising ("craftsmanship"?) the ten letters of "spot-hire" plus "ry" (abbreviation for "railway"): "Portishead" uses most of those letters, but is closed anyway... various four-or-five-letter fecal tinkerings lead nowhere, and would in any case, probably not be allowed in demure British railway timetables...
