'Canoe star' backwards contains the word Asteon. The word canoe also includes the instruction "No 'e'". Therefore Asteon - e = Aston.

There is no station called John Carew in Britain, but there is a King John - famous for his struggles to keep his seat on the throne.

So logically, there can be no other solution to the clue than Seaton Carew!
