When you said old, I was using some lateral thinking and went with the old term for a crossing

Might I request a clue?

Thought that was good for my first go, what bit gave it away?

EXAMPLE presumably meant EG and Maesteg was the first one I thought of that ends EG. The rest then fell into place.
