Cryptic clues = station name

No but that's because I've messed up

Goldfinger was correct and with a D instead of G should have spelt Grindleford. Except it needed another R

The intercom becomes live when you press the button

If this is a hidden word then Combe is the obvious possibility but there is nothing to suggest this clue type.

I considered that it could be a name ending ON but could not find one that fitted. Intercom could mean IC but only Ickenham starts IC and that does not fit.

I think it's past time for a clue particularly as clues are normally abandoned if no solution has been found after a week, i.e., tomorrow for this one.

You are right that the answer is COMBE

I got lucky with my answer last time. I'm not very good at setting or spotting cryptic clues

Not terribly inspired but it's the only one I had prepared. It's time to compose a few more; I'm getting close to 100 clues set and solved now.
