I'm confident enough that this is the correct answer that I will post the next one immediately.
This is a printer's devilry clue, the opposite of a hidden word type. In this the answer has been removed from a sentence. The remaining letters may form different words but they are in the same order; punctuation may have been altered or removed.
Lancelot fines this horse
Two of these words are unchanged when the answer is inserted; the other two form different words.

No it's not Addlestone. Nice try though. The actual sentence makes (a bit) more sense but is still rather contrived.

No, it's not Tonbridge. I don't think the Arthurian stories give a name for Lancelot's horse.
The station does refer in some way to Lancelot (or Galahad or Tristram or Gawain or...etc).

How much of a surprise would it be if I say this is not right? Remember that only two of the original four words are unchanged, and obviously Lancelot is one of them.

I have given up on this one
I have tried to fit every station into the sentence and apart from a few weird expressions (of which my previous entry was the most sensible!) nothing fits with any credibility
So thanks Seacook for three wasted nights

I think it is time for a hint on this one. The best I have achieved so far is to note that 'ill horse' is an anagram of Rose Hill but there is no station of that name, though there is a Rose Hill Marple. If the last part is indicated by 'Red Spotted Hanky', I can't see how.
I can't help thinking I'm missing something vital.

Northern's map does show the station as Rose Hill, but Network Rail's map says Rose Hill Marple which is also what comes up if you put RSH in the national Rail Enquires journey planner. I think the Northern map is an anomaly.
The sad part is that I spotted Rose Hill as an anagram within about 30 seconds then spent days looking for something else.
