They told me that they recently had all the dmi questions changed just before the interview batch that I attended. A lot of questions on how you would deal with staying calm in various situations. Quite a few on how you would handle the learning aspect of it as well as the usual interview questions about yourself and your career so far.
Yeah, the waiting with xc can be quite tough.

When they invited me for assessments in January I was told by the recruiter that I had placed within the top 20 scorers of the online tests. The applicant number was 4500 I believe.

Same, we either did really well and they are cherry picking the best 20 candidates at a time, or they fed us a load of bull to massage our ego

I did the initial online tests and have been pending ever since.
The first time I had to do it i practised a hell of alot. I was doing research and looking into youtube on tips and tricks on understanding andnworking them out easier and i know through that I gotnso much better at them. On all the online practise stuff i started off getting 1 or 2 right to maybe only getting 1 wrong. The second time I just done a little refresher and got into the flow of it

Congrats, that's the hard bit done, Now you just need to convince them you aren't a complete psychopath weirdo in your dmi..... I don't think I did too well at that...

Seen some say it’s a chat and others say it’s a formal structured interview?

Felt like a bit of both tbf, was structured as in the interviewer had 10 (iirc) questions that they asked me but not as intense as the mmi and I was firing questions back at them at the same time so like a chat as well.
Questions for the most part were standardish interview questions, why fo you want to do the job, how would you react in this situation etc
The only thing that narked me a little bit was I was told that the interview would be scored, which I don't know how one would do such a thing unless instead of being judged on how I came across as a person and if the interviewers thought I would be good at the job I'll be scored on whether or not my answers to mundane standard none train driving related interview questions matched enough buzzwords or phrases..... I dunno, I might have it all wrong but I'll be annoyed if the dmi is what Let's me down after getting this far

Yeah glad to have that under my belt now!
We did all 4 paper tests then 3 computerised then a SJT and MMI to finish off

I’m hoping they’re batching a few people together for courses later in the year, they have quite a few days of assessments that I could’ve picked from so maybe they’re waiting till after this lot to start a new course (hopefully!)

From the sound of it when I was talking to them they are pretty much running as many courses as they can, I think there are 2 running this year plus one starting tail end of this year and into next year, if I understood correctly at least

Can confirm this is what they roughly mentioned to me in my dmi last week. In the same boat now and just waiting on results
What I got told in my DMI is that they have four course dates a year: January, May, June, September and that all of this year's courses are subscribed to already.
So you'll get out into the talent pool and allocated a course next year or maybe the years after depending on how many places your depot gets and how you scored in the psychometrics and DMI.

Patience is the game though, I’ve got 3 years in my head and anything before that is a bonus

I got a call in January asking if I was available for a DMI with courses in March or June......obviously yes.
It then went quiet so I chased them in March and they said it would be soon but still not heard anything, like you say, I'm tempted to call again but dont want to be the annoying one!

Do you mind me asking what practise did you do to prepare for opc tests? Thank you ( did you do any practise for flash image one and joysticks)
I paid around 150 for practice materials.
There's a website called traineetraindriver info.com
I paid 150 for the programmes with the windows download onto my laptop. It contains practice for Group Bourdon, Tea Occ, Grey Square, 2 hand, and photographic memory test.
Most of them are quite similar to the real thing.
Trp 1b and 2, i practiced using the material they had sent.
In relation to MMI, I wrote out a list of questions I found in this thread and was lucky enough for them to appear.
