That one's different from mine. The one I have seems to cycle through the same maybe 50 or so images so it doesn't feel as if I'm getting better. More a case of remembering what the answers were from the last time I did it.

Is that an issue you experienced with this software?
Yes, with the practice ones, it was possible to run out. The 'test mode' there was a lot more and you'd be surprised how many have 4 or even 5 of the items in once you slow it down. Test mode doesn't give the answers, just the score. It massively helped me, for sure.

I'll give it a dowload this weekend and get practising!

Can't remember, but I'm sure the original job description indicated that holiday would be allocated to you around training, would have thought it was the typical 28 days, but don't quote me on that.
It’s 2 weeks that’s baked into the training schedule (around 12 weeks in) then once on traction/handling it’s another week taken when you need it. Hope that helps.

He said 3 from Birmingham to me not sure how many the course holds
9 per course and there are 4 courses this year as of end of April. That could change as it did last year and an additional course was squeezed in.

Hello, nice to meet you all. I have applied for Manchester and have a few questions if anyone can help, no worries at all if not...

- I live in Liverpool, does anyone know any other XC drivers at MAN who live in Liverpool?
- Does anyone know how many vacancies they have at MAN?
- Does anyone have a rough idea of when the start dates are?

Any help would be very much appreciated.
Kind regards, Callum.

From what I understand being in the talent pool currently, there isn't a specific amount of places. It is by the needs of the business that depots are allocated spaces on courses.

Going by their current pattern, courses seem to be January, April, June and September.

Hope this helps, mate.

How long have you been in the talent bank mate? Is it for Manchester you are waiting on? It seems strange that they are advertising for trainee drivers when they already have people like yourself waiting?

There is no reason they wouldn’t take from there, but is it within the 45 minute commute to the depot?

I have been waiting for an Edinburgh start date since January bud. I believe they need quite a lot drivers at most depots. Hopefully they intend to use us all over the next two years if they are saying they are running courses through 26/7.

Ok thanks. Fingers crossed I make it through the selection process. It’s been a long wait for Avanti these last 2 years

Has anyone here included a cover letter with their application for this? I have one as part of my CV, but I didn’t upload a separate one as part of the application because there was nowhere for it to be uploaded.

Just worried I’ve missed this now and will get the auto rejection.

I didn’t mate, I didn’t see anywhere to and wasn’t asked to so I didn’t upload it.

I’ve been invited to take part in some tests but can’t find any example tests anywhere. They are SHL “assessment” and “spatial ability” tests. Can anyone point me towards some examples?

Yes same, email received this morning. Can’t see any tests or a link to examples - have passed OPC prior with another TOC but not sure if this is different as still new to it all. Any and all tips welcome!

I applied recently and have been invited, I'm guessing the only people who have been invited to this are those who have passed the initial sift?

I received the email today, even as a qualified driver. I’ll complete them later
Out of curiosity, what makes you apply for an apprentice role if you’re already qualified mate? Is it still difficult to change posts once you’re up and running?

Tocs take on qualified drivers even through trainee roles. They obviously don’t have to do an apprenticeship, just traction and route learning
