I received a call earlier this week asking about my availability for test centres in Manchester this month. So I think the calls are going out.

Does anyone know during the training course/classroom phase if its conducted over weekends/bank holidays? I would assume not but just asking
Monday-Friday and probably not on bank holidays.
Not long been out the classroom side. It’s Monday - Friday including bank holidays.

How does it work regarding an important date known in advance?
As far is I know miss a certain number of days and you are off the course, the course is intense enough and once you add catch up to the mix the results are usually a given.

Hello, anyone here in for Newcastle talent pool with any updates as to when a course might be starting?
Hello, in Newcastle talent pool since May. Haven't heard anything since i’m afraid. During interview they mentioned a big recruitment drive for next year. Hopefully something in the near future.
The course is very rigid. I’m sure they can try their best to help you out but it will mostly depend on where the date falls on the course schedule. It’s worth mentioning as soon as you start. You will get a couple to weeks off in the course and if you’re lucky it will land then.

Newcastle course started last week. I'm not on it but I know someone who is.

Ah, interesting. Glad to hear they have definitely started training drivers for Newcastle! I wasn’t sure how long to expect to be in a talent pool, have they said if there is any indication as to when another course for Newcastle might be starting do you know?

Sorry I’m a bit late to the chat. I failed my MMI with the OPC in April. However I’ve just passed it on my second attempt sitting it privately. I was interviewed for the Leeds depot. Anyone from Leeds know of any courses next year? Cheers Danny

Do they know you have since passed? Better off giving them a call or email to see what's going on for you
I emailed the orignal person at XC who I was dealing with, but he has since moved to a different department. I've emailed the generic recruitment email, so hopefully will hear something.

Cheers. I passed. It’s such an intensive day. Just waiting to see next steps. One guy had already had a formal interview whereas I’ve only had a short team’s interview before testing. So assuming I still need to do a proper drivers manager interview.

I was told (as it sounds like some others were) that there are courses planned for early 2025 (Cambridge) and it'd be good to know if that's still the case and maybe any rough dates, given that you need to put your life on hold for a year for the training.

I unfortunately failed one of the psychometric tests for this position back in April but have received an email today asking me if I am still interested and if I am they will arrange a date for resitting. Has anybody else received this email?

I also failed one of the psychometric tests for this position back in April, however I resat and passed the relevant test a week ago sitting as a private candidate in Manchester.
Just heard back from the recruitment team had confirmation I'm now definitely in the Talent Pool for Leeds. Just a relief to know I'm deffo in the pool!

Does anyone have a contact for the new recruiter in the midlands? The person I have been speaking to is no longer in that role. I’ve emailed the recruitment email but as of yet had no reply.
