Why? What difference does the date it changes in the portal make?
The fact that someone has changed that to ‘end of process’ right before xmas. Rather unkind considering the time of year I thought, but clearly you couldn’t give one..

Does it tbh matter when they change it? I'd personally if we're on the topic, I've been pissed if they let me go through Christmas thinking I was still with a Chance to then find out on New Years that it wasn't the case or whilst everyone's enjoying the footy and opening presents on boxing day, you're opening up the portal to an "End of Process". Either way, the information has to be given and it will be disappointing no matter when and where its given. One can only Chin up and go again.

So recruitment should just stop for December because it's the run up to Xmas time? Irrespective of the industry, the status changes when it changes.

It's not like people have gone through all testing and then had a phone call on Xmas eve.

Should my status not have updated when it did as it was days before my sons birthday?

Anyone apply for Newcastle. Mine still shows as application in progress. Presume they have just forgotten to end it

In for Manchester and still showing as in progress. I have however just got a start date for Northern so I assume I will just withdraw from the XC process.

Lol I’m not sure they would know it’s your sons birthday or why it would be relevant to them. They do however know it’s Christmas and it’s not in the spirit of things.
Could have simply waited the day, I doubt the whole industry would come to a standstill. That news could really dampen Christmas for many.

Well obviously. My point being, it's just a status that has updated on the portal, nobody has received a phone call with bad news a day or so before Christmas. Highly likely to have been an automated update even.

I understand people may not want to hear that the vast majority of applicants are unsuccessful in getting a driver role, but it's something that a lot of us will have to accept regardless of the date (myself included seeing as my application status also changed).

I've accepted my rejection and applied elsewhere already.

Is it the highest RAAT scorers that get the first round of interviews?
I believe it’s down to the DMs to look at applications in their own time, depending on their needs/training slots they’re given. I imagine they’ll look at a combination of RAAT scores and your CV to decide who to interview

I'm in for both Birmingham & Derby, just checked my portal and Birmingham has now updated to 'Assessment' and Derby still showing as 'Application in Progress'
Anyone got any ideas as to what 'Assessment' is meant to mean?

Just had a look after I read this and I'm the same as you for both Depots!

After I've seen this I've just looked on mine and it says assessment too although I've still heard nothing from them since application

I think everyone still in the running will get an interview. This is just the first round of people. There will be more rounds in the coming months I believe.

Well done to all that are showing assessment, it does indeed mean you'll get an interview, that's what mine showed just before getting an interview.

Same! Assessment now showing on my portal! I’ve done all my OPC tests and MMI. What will I have to do now? Just DMI?
I'm in the same position as you, I've just had my DMI (don'tknow the result yet), all OPC/MMI completed previously. If succsessful it's just a medical, then an offer of employment.

I do hope so! How long did you have to wait between it changing to assessment for your interview?
It still shows assessment even though I've had my interview, I guess it's just because the majority will still need to do OPC/MMI after a successful DMI.

I can’t log on to check mine. Says site is temporarily unavailable. I guess I’ll just need to wait and see.

Just as I posted this I finally got in. Still application in process for Edinburgh.

Just remember this is for the Talent Pool. Depending on our scores we will be out in a league table and then only the top ones might be offered a slot… if there is a job available. I know of people that have sat in Talent Pools for over 2 years. Then nothing!

If it says application in process I believe you will still get an interview later on. That’s what I heard. If you were declined you would have been told by now.

Or you could be left at this stage with no next step as has happened with XC before.
