I'm out, "End of Process". Went for Cambridge and probably am too far away to be fair to them. Still got my hat in the ring elsewhere, so not too disappointed. DB just don't like me, haha...

I went for Cambridge and mines on application in process which surprises me as I live 30 minutes over the hour to get there

I've applied and said I'd relocate for Derby, Leeds or Bristol (I am at a flux time in my life and no family to hold me down). I am still application in process.

Sounds like when Virgin lost XC in 07. There was a mass exodus to VWC & personally couldn’t blame them.

2007 was a huge melting pot for XC - losing half of Edinburgh and Preston depots, but gaining around a third of Central Trains crew. Since then of course there has been a massive change and there are far less ex Virgin crew in the depots these days.

Good position to be in for a potential XC train driver

I don't recall having to put which depot I would be going for, however on my application it says Leicester for some reason. I would be going for Newcastle. anybody else noticed this ?

I put in my cover letter that I was aiming for Leeds, Derby etc.

Oddly, on the jobscreen it says Senior Conductor Leicester??

Hoping for Bristol personally, I don't remember a place where we got to specify that though? Not been bombed out yet though, so fingers crossed!

Yeah it's been mentioned a few times that due to it being poorly coded, it will show Leicester regardless at this point.

I'm up for Derby or Bristol as willing to relocate a reasonable distance, I'm about 1hr20 from Derby and 2hr from Bristol currently

Same, hoping they use my postcode to work out relevant depots

As posted up thread, the DB/Arriva website location field is seriously broken. Someone really should advise them to get on top of it.

I wonder when we will here back from them? Does anyone have any previous experience of how quick things progress?
Many Thanks
A colleague of mine applied this time last year and starts next week, so it can take a while but once the ball starts rolling with assessment days etc it can move quickly and then maybe a long wait after until start date

Do you know roughly how long it takes to hear back about initial sift?

Well the email said 2-4 weeks, can't see it being any more than that really
I applied in Feb 2021 and got the same email.... I'm still waiting for a further response and I'm still 'application in process' on the website   ....I know from another thread that people were taken on, if I wasn't on this forum I would still be in the dark!

Yeah, seems that happens a lot! All the TOCs I've previously applied for have replied in good time so must just be XC that are so bad

Morning guys, applied for XC based out of Leicester on the 18th Jan. got an email from them last week confirming they received my application, and to keep checking my emails and the application portal. Portal still saying application processing so fingers crossed good luck to all!
