There will be at least one change to the England XI, with Liam Dawson called up as Shoaib Bashir has been ruled out of the rest of the series with a broken finger - but at least he went out on a high note! Can't wait for the OT test next week, let's hope the weather stays away and we get to see England hopefully wrap up the series!
I agree with the change another one that needs to happen is Pope dropped for BethalThere will be at least one change to the England XI, with Liam Dawson called up as Shoaib Bashir has been ruled out of the rest of the series with a broken finger - but at least he went out on a high note!

Also a record for the most ducks (7) made in a Test innings.2nd lowest score in test history. Only New Zealand’s 26 in 1955 is lower. It would have been the lowest if the extras didn’t reach 6. Starc with brilliant figures or 6 for 9.
One that was being challenged very recently in and by England. Also a record for the most ducks (7) made in a Test innings.

England have been fined 10% of their match fees and deducted 2 World Test Championship points for the slow over rate - the match referee deemed that they were 2 overs short of their target. So, there we have it - 77 overs would have been entirely acceptable and England would not have been to blame.Day 2 saw a mere 75 overs including the innings change.
I'm sorry but that's bs. India were time wasting and we got punished how does that work?England have been fined 10% of their match fees and deducted 2 World Test Championship points for the slow over rate - the match referee deemed that they were 2 overs short of their target. That's why they were 2 overs short, and not 15 overs short, because the referee took into account the various delays that were not under England's control.I'm sorry but that's bs. India were time wasting and we got punished how does that work?
However, the lack of any punishment seems strange. That's why they were 2 overs short, and not 15 overs short, because the referee took into account the various delays that were not under England's control.
Sciver-Brunt, wife of England captain Nat, said players "don't want the ball because they are scared to fail".
"I played with a lot of passion and it certainly wasn't on the inside - you can see what I felt a lot of the time," she said. "I put a lot of pride into what I did, everything was life and death.
"It's hard for me to understand some people sometimes and their attitudes because to me it looks lazy and they are not trying and don't care as much."
While Sciver-Brunt did not name any players, she said she "sometimes" sees such attitudes in the current set-up.
Didn't you notice the England scorecard a few weeks ago (Edgbaston, 1st innings)?Never seen a scorecard like it before

You could tell the Hampshire v Nottinghamshire game was drifting to the inevitable draw. Wicket-keeper Ben Brown came on to bowl four overs.
Last week it was Ishan Kishan who came from behind the stumps to turn his arm over for six balls, during the draw against Somerset.
I also recall a Nottinghamshire game, a number of years ago, when all eleven Nottinghamshire players had a bowl on the final day of a championship match.
I don't have a problem with it, they aren't out there just to help the batters improve their averages.Disgraceful lack of sportsmanship by some of the England players, because India refused Stokes’ offer to shake hands in favour of their two batsmen getting centuries.
A distinct lack of the polite applause you expect from fielders when an opponent reaches a hundred, and lots of snide comments picked up on the stump microphone

My approach would be either:The game can only finish early with the agreement of both captains. One offered, the other declined. Play on and stop being so petulant, England.
If it was the other way round England would absolutely have batted on.
My approach would be either:
A) full on body line attack
Or
B) worst pie chuckers on to get the game over with
There's method behind that! If a proper opener went out, and got out even to a long-hop it would dent their average for the sake of a couple of runs! The daftest episode I can remember is Leicestershire away at Essex in 1986.
Essex 153 & 111
Leicestershire 264
Leicestershire needed one to win in their second innings. Their opening batsmen were number 10 & 11 from the first innings (including Jonathan Agnew, now of the BBC), and Essex opened the bowling with their wicketkeeper, complete with pads but not gloves. Agnew took a single from the second ball to secure victory for county
