Well, they're not going to work for free are they? Private healthcare staff need to put food on the table too.
They don't have to, the people paying the health insurance premiums would be paying for them.

Ah well, I've just been to see my mom for mother's day...
Setting out terms? Must have been pretty rubbish at it to end up doing it at cost. You're damned right its political axe grinding. At a time when we are told we are in a crisis, and people are losing their jobs because they have to stay at home to reduce the impact on the NHS, the private companies are setting out their terms to government?
You were asked not to do so. You may be infected but asymptomatic.
Oh, so I can't visit my mom who lives in the same house as me?

I will go ‘see my mum’ this afternoon. But I will stay outside the house and hope she leans out the window or sits in the front hall. The card went over days ago so should be sterile by now.You were asked not to do so. You may be infected but asymptomatic.
I have a motorbike and conditions are perfect, especially with less “cages” on the road.
I was thinking of having a ride on my own, I thought I would not be in contact with anyone which is the main concern.
But then I considered, what if I have an accident? The ambulance service, police and possibly fire service would have to come and scrape me off the road and this would divert vital resources and they’d all have to come in contact with me and each other.
So I think I’ll leave the bike at home for now. Regrettably.
Not just bikes but anyone going out should think carefully about their actions.
That's EXACTLY the thought process needed.
Spot on.
The risk is also, that having had an accident, there is no medical facility available to treat you as all the beds are taken.Yep. Basically, be utterly risk averse in every area of your life - one accident is one bed fewer for a COVID19 patient.

Nobody likes a smartarse, especially right now.
Others are happily ignoring advice and just doing as they please. Time to lock down these clowns.
I don't know a single person who has ever described talking to someone in the same house as having "been to see" someone!
Unless they're self isolating, in which case, no, you shouldn't have done.
No-one has said you can't drive, only 'non-essential journeys by public transport' are strongly discouraged. An obvious unfairness to public transport users, but it is about social distancing rather than travel in itself. You can be on your own in a car (or with people in your house anyway), drive to the country, wander about and come home, quite safely. Yet when people all go to the same place (Brighton Beach or Snowdon Summit), the social distancing is not achieved. They could, of course, have gone to the lesser visited places and not come within 100m of someone else. But that requires thought and lack of sheep/herd mentality.
Well, obviously people haven't been told they can't drive...yet! But there is real anger here at the thoughtlessness of those who piled in their cars on Friday evening and headed over here, local Mountain Rescue team have said it is like a sunny BH, and they are not keeping their Social Distance It is irresponsible....they have been 'asked' not to come, now they will have to be told/ordered.
Well theoretically my whole family is supposed to be self isolating due to various medical issues, but tomorrow I need to head out as I need to visit a specific clothes shop in Birmingham (there is no shop closer to my house because they cater to men my size - a bit more cuddly - so I can get some new trousers for my return back to work in a couple of weeks after being off sick with a burst haematoma) and a hair cut (as the hair is near enough in my eyes and ears (4 months worth of natural curls) so I can look decent for my return to work.
“All visitor car parks shut, police actively ticketing illegal parking” would keep most away wouldnt it, without any legislation?
Those people wouldn’t need the car parks in the hills and tourist sites would they? That too. Perhaps those who need to park for e.g. working for the NHS or supermarkets could get access with written proof.

Order some online, and get a pair of clippers off Amazon. There are plenty of "big and tall" suppliers online.
I'd also venture that you will not be returning to work in a couple of weeks unless you happen to work for the NHS or a supermarket.
You can cut your own hair with clippers.
How easy is that though? (thinking particularly of round the back of the head)

I was only trying to induce a little bit of wit.
Perhaps the ‘Mullet’ will make a comeback? How easy is that though? (thinking particularly of round the back of the head)
