Didn't enter this or last week's one randomly, never noticed this one for entry anyway.
Not really a fan of any photos in this lot, which is a first for me.

Gone with photo 2, the only one I really like much at all. Might be a bit blurry, but since a number of photos don't fit the category to my eyes, then I'm going for it.
Has to be said that this is the weakest POTW round I've ever attempted to cast a vote for.
Oh, I don't know! I rather enjoyed looking at them - nice variety of shots.
Anyway, I liked shot 1 very much - could be from the period were it not for the 'flailing', and shot 3 is very appealing also - but I find myself yearning to see more of the landscape, almost trying to peer around the 'corners' of the image.
My vote goes to No. 4, by some margin - it's a pretty fantastic photo. As minette said, 'very much a chocolate box picture' - and it is, but to me this no bad thing. Gorgeous sky, great location (no 'orrible modern lineside equipment - nothing but a lovely semaphore!).
Above all, though, the sense of power and speed - a combination, I guess, of the angle of the shot, exposure, great trailing smoke and
above all, beauty, grace, and sheer style of the A4. I do have a weakness for BR (steam) blue.
