They'll be next I'm sure!I bet DSG with their Currys/PC World presence are shedding a few "crocodile tears " over all this.

I'll be honest, I didn't read the entire article, just saw the headline and assumed Comet would be no more, didn't realize there were plans for an online business.I expect if a deal is done to buy the name and continue the online side, there will be less discounts and more stock going back to the warehouses.
If I was going to buy the company and keep selling goods online, I'd be wanting to acquire all the stock in the shops - not see it given away cheap.
Of course, I don't know how the business is set up - maybe the shops and the online side are separate entities.
Maybe we'll start seeing some decent clearance sales now!
Yesterday I got a 50% off everything email from Comet:
An Acer laptop with 8GB ram and 750GB hard drive running Windows 8 didn't seem bad at £225!
Assuming they have any!
Yes, it specifically cited washing machines and fridge freezers. No reference to TVs though!
Yeah it works, cheers for link, interesting to seehttp://cometemail.co.uk/go.asp?/bEUR016/mZS07J1/uKFIX7/xFZXAL1 does this link work for everyone, I selected to view email as a website.
Oh, did we start of discussing astronomy then?![]()
Yup, and there are now questions about some of the finances - as well as the fact that the owners are secure creditors and will actually get paid out ahead of everyone else.
Sounds familiar though. Wasn't this similar to the group of people who took over Rover, or the many changes of one of the high-street sport shops (JJB or JD or whoever)?
