(See https://www.northernrailway.co.uk/sites/default/files/2022-10/Coast and Peaks Rovers map NEW.pdf)?
Maybe you're seeing "West Midlands Trains" but, if so, don't forget that this operates the London Northwestern Railway "brand". However, there aren’t any London NorthWestern trains between Crewe and Liverpool, so I’m not sure what you are really trying to ask! (EDIT Actually I think there are, apologies, but anyway it's immaterial I think).
I was looking at http://www.railrover.org/pages/coast-and-peaks-rover.html which mentions WMT. I didn’t know whether WMT covered Crewe-Lime Street, and obviously then made the mistake of looking on Wikipedia which shows a green line (LNWR) to Liverpool on its map.
However, the WMT website shows the timetable for Birmingham-Liverpool as operated by LNWR.
No wonder I’m confused.

Thank you very much.
Yes, I was wrong when I said that LNWR didn't operate to Liverpool, but whatever they're called you'll be fine! I also think railrover.org isn't always completely accurate and up to date so it's often worth checking in other places to be sure. But for sure the WMT "sub-branding" is confusing.
