Hi. Can this rover ticket be used on London NorthWestern trains between Crewe and Liverpool, or is it limited to Avanti?

Yes, it is not "limited to Avanti".
Is there any reason why you think it is, by the way, all the sources of information I can find say things like

Valid on all train operating companies’ services on the map.

Maybe you're seeing "West Midlands Trains" but, if so, don't forget that this operates the London Northwestern Railway "brand".
However, there aren’t any London NorthWestern trains between Crewe and Liverpool, so I’m not sure what you are really trying to ask! (EDIT Actually I think there are, apologies, but anyway it's immaterial I think).

I was looking at http://www.railrover.org/pages/coast-and-peaks-rover.html which mentions WMT. I didn’t know whether WMT covered Crewe-Lime Street, and obviously then made the mistake of looking on Wikipedia which shows a green line (LNWR) to Liverpool on its map.
However, the WMT website shows the timetable for Birmingham-Liverpool as operated by LNWR.
No wonder I’m confused.

Yes, I was wrong when I said that LNWR didn't operate to Liverpool, but whatever they're called you'll be fine! I also think railrover.org isn't always completely accurate and up to date so it's often worth checking in other places to be sure. But for sure the WMT "sub-branding" is confusing.
