That speaks volumes over the sustainability of continuing to operate rail services to Stranraer.

Not really. It more speaks volumes about how necessary the two 156s are to the overall Scotrail operation.

How have the trapped trains become unserviceable
There is a mileage limit between inspections. Because they can't get to the depot, they can't be inspected. And if they can't be inspected they can't be operated.

Where there's a will, there's a way. Moving the DMUs by road would be perfectly doable - it's clear that ScotRail just don't consider it worth their while. That speaks volumes over the sustainability of continuing to operate rail services to Stranraer.
I agree with the above post, it more says ScotRail don’t need the two DMUs, and that they’ve decided it’s better for customers to run the RRB service, rather than them having to take a train to Girvan, then a RRB to Ayr, and then a train from there onwards.

Talking of footbridges can you add a similar note as Polesworth to the Pilning entry?
Done.

Short term the risk is low - medium term E/W want to close, sorry merge, most of the stations.
I was pleasantly surprised to be removing the Marston Vale stations from the list - I was convinced they would be bustituted until EWR came in. I'm not averse to the 5 station plan, it does make some sense, as long as the proper process is followed during the consultation and any closure proposal.
