You're right - it wasn't clear on the old map I was originally using, but after checking the Ian Allan Pre-Grouping atlas, I find it was a goods yard- Hollins Grove St- which closed in 1981. Oops! Sorry.So let's try

Delving into my list of newly-prepared journeys, I think that we will go from the north side of the Greater Manchester area to a place just outside its southern extremity for the next journey.


This starts at the open station of New Mills Central and follows the line of the Manchester, Buxton, Matlock and Midland Junction Railway....but I must stress that any station recently opened by Peak Rail will dis-allow these stations being mentioned in this quiz

Derby is the mid-point where we then follow the Derby to Crewe line, until we end the journey at the open station of Crewe
