Where a doubt exists as to the knowledge of an actual distance that existed between the two station sites in such a situation, as in the case of Conway Marsh that was opened to serve an Army camp, it is hereby decreed that it is better to err on the side of caution and NOT to use the replacement station as a posting submission and only to show the ORIGINAL station name in posting submissions. (The example of the situation existing at Whifflet (both the 1st station and the Low Level one) being a good example to cite here).

This is number 1953 in the series so far.....

The journey starts at the closed station of Middleton-in-Teesdale
It follows the line of the SD&LUR Tees Valley Railway
It then follows the line of the South Durham & Lancashire Union Railway...via Barnard Castle (2nd station)
It then follows the line of the Lancaster and Carlisle Railway...via Tebay...note 1st and 2nd stations
It then follows the line of the Lancaster & Preston Junction Railway...via Galgate
It then follows the line of the Liverpool, Ormskirk & Preston Railway...via Todd Lane Junction...via Midge Hall
It then follows the line of the LYR Skelmersdale Branch Line...via Westhead Halt
It then follows the line of the St Helens and Runcorn Gap Railway...via Rainford Village...via Widnes South
It then follows the line of the Garston and Liverpool Railway...via Otterspool
The journey ends at the closed station of Liverpool Central High Level

The first closed station on this journey is Middleton-in-Teesdale
