So Peterborough East can stay, then... Would I, likely, be lynched for raising a possible alternative means of getting the desired result: carrying on southward from Peterborough North, then at Fletton Junction taking the south-to-west connecting line which joins Peterborough East -- Northampton, a little way westward along its route ?

Indeed yes - at least, I would have thought so - or rather no - I wouldn't lynch you because that seems like a valid alternative


Whilst we wait for the next journey I am going to explore the Hendre-ddu tramway (I got off the train at Aberangell)

It then follows the line of the GNR Wansford Branch Line
It then follows the line of the Northampton and Peterborough Railway
It then follows the line of the London and Birmingham Railway...note 1st and 2nd stations
It then follows the line of the Northampton and Banbury Junction Railway
The journey ends at the closed station of Towcester
