I'm lost ! Going to do the cowardly thing: have to go out for some hours -- looking at coming back and finding matters making sense once more...

OBSERVATION

When we were on the line of the Edinburgh and Bathgate Railway, prior to Livingston (1848-1948), would we have called at....

Dechmont (1850-1861) ?

I had thought that the Dechmont station on the Bangour Private Railway, branching off the E&BR just west of Uphall, was the only one to bear the name. However the Wikipedia list of closed stations lists an E&BR station with that name and an 1861 closure date. A careful review of the 1856 1:10560 OS map shows "Halt" in very small text at an overbridge near Dechmont Park. The road layout has totally changed, but mapping it to a modern map puts it about 350 yards east of the modern station of Livingston North.

Which is a very long winded way of saying yes, we would!
