Reversing at Stoke -- Cliffe Vale

That one above is one that I had not come across in the past and all my researches this afternoon and early evening show in relation to that station was that there was a very short-lived halt called Cliffe Vale Halt, situated between Stoke on Trent and Etruria stations that was both opened and closed as long ago in 1865 as a somewhat thwarted NSR aspiration on what eventually became the Potteries Loop Line and that it was situated on what eventually became a freight-only line that was used for bringing china clay for the pottery trade to Stoke-on-Trent from Cornwall in later years.

(The line we are currently on is the NSR Stoke-on-Trent to Sandbach line).

Looks like Mr. Dewick getting things wrong (again): he shows Cliffe Vale ("closed pre-1901") as supposedly the first station out of Stoke on the Sandbach line. I, in a hurry, took this thing from Dewick as "gospel" -- didn't check it against any other source. Apologies for time-expenditure caused. Am striking Cliffe Vale out.
