Based on a quick check of OS maps from 1880 to 1963, I think the Wiki templates for both the NA&H and MR&CCo need to be revised here. There was only one connection between the two which was west to south facing, and it was located west of Clarence Street station (not east as shown on the NA&H template). The situation was confused by some sidings in the north to east quadrant which look like a connection at first sight, but in fact were at a lower level than the MR&CCo line.
Cwmbran (2nd station - 1880 to 1962). (Noting that this is the station on the "Llantarnam Link" between the Monmouthshire Railways & Canal Co's original line and the Pontypool Caerleon & Newport Railway)
Also note that the closed station of Pontrhydyrun Halt (1933 to 1962) lay between Pontrhydyrun (1852 to 1917) and Upper Pontnewydd.
