Gwaelodywaen Colliery

I have spent some time endeavouring to find this colliery, as after the last named colliery halt, there are three closed stations to pass on this line before we reach the second of the two colliery stations on this section of the line.

Some collieries had their halts for the use of miners actually situated on the branch line from the main line leading into the colliery, but the two colliery halts on this part of the Brecon and Merthyr Railway had their halts situated on the main line itself.

Verily (sometimes) the Complete Atlas of Railway Station Names deceiveth us, and the truth is not in it -- I saw it as giving Gwaelodywaen Colliery, as the station / halt south of Bargoed Colliery Halt on the Brecon & Merthyr line. Not sure if I can go again yet, after my last being a "nonsense" post -- maybe someone else would like to.
