It then follows the line of the Inverness and Aviemore Direct Railway
It then follows the line of the Inverness and Perth Junction Railway
It then follows the line of the Perth and Dunkeld Railway
It then follows the line of the Scottish Midland Junction Railway
It then follows the line of the Scottish Central Railway
It then follows the line of the Caledonian Railway Main Line
It then follows the line of the Symington, Biggar and Broughton Railway
It then follows the line of the Peebles Railway
It then follows the line of the Edinburgh and Daleth Railway
It then follows the line of the Edinburgh Suburban and South side Junction Railway...using the Piershill loop line
The journey ends at the close station of Doddingston and Craigamillar
